In today’s workplace, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) is no longer a luxury, but a necessity.

Yet the state of AI at most enterprises today is bogged down with siloed systems and capabilities locked away behind cumbersome processes. This reality inhibits seamless cross-platform operations and interrupts the natural flow of work. AI capabilities are evolving fast. It’s time for organizations to embrace AI’s next frontier – digital omnipresence, AI that integrates seamlessly into the flow of work across the vast digital workplace, is highly configurable, and transcends applications and platforms.

Contextual AI: Seamless Integration into Workflows

Imagine a marketing professional working on a campaign strategy in a project management platform. Right now, they may need to shift between different applications to gain insights, prompt disjointed AI assistants, or analyze disparate data. This back-and-forth interaction is not only frustrating, but distracts from their core tasks. It’s also not something that every employee knows how to do well. When and how should they prompt the AI assistants? Which assistant should they use?

Omnipresent AI will transform this experience because it’s contextually aware and deeply integrated into workflows across applications. It will understand the user’s role, preferences, and current tasks. Instead of prompting AI through chat interfaces, the AI will proactively offer insights and suggestions in real time. This capability will drastically improve productivity and efficiency. Imagine not having to think about whether or not it’s helpful or appropriate to use AI in this moment, the AI would just pop up to suggest your next best action right on the screen.

For instance, Meet Dana. She’s a Sales Manager at Acme, juggling priorities as her team closes out a busy quarter. This morning, while checking her inbox, Dana receives an email from her team member, Kate. Kate is asking Dana to meet 1 on 1 next week to discuss her career development plan. The omnipresent AI automatically scans the email and detects the intent.

As Dana clicks into the email, it steps in with two contextually relevant next best actions: She can visit Kate’s employee profile on SuccessFactors Or view her compensation history. Dana selects “View Compensation History”. Without leaving her inbox, a summary appears, offering everything she needs. She sees that Kate’s salary is below the benchmark for her position, and that she hasn’t had a raise in two years. She can also see that according to Kate’s success metrics, she consistently exceeds her sales target. The information is transparently sourced from SuccessFactors, keeping Dana confident in the data’s accuracy. The omnipresent AI makes every interaction actionable. It offers Dana to initiate the compensation review process.

With one click it launches an AI chat. Here, all of Acme’s copilots come together through a unified experience to support Dana through her compensation review. Without leaving her inbox, the compensation review is complete and Dana smiles as she feels ready for her forthcoming meeting with Kate.

With the omnipresent AI, Dana effortlessly completes key workflows with the help of AI. She gets proactive, contextual assistance that is consistent across any application, every step of the way and  Kate gets the manager she always wished for. The omnipresent AI changed the future for both of them.

Transforming the Future of Work

The current AI ecosystem suffers from fragmentation. AI capabilities locked away in different applications has led to a fragmented user experience. Cross application omnipresence is the key to boundless productivity and efficiency gains, traversing all applications and platforms while presenting a unified, consistent interface to users.

An omnipresent AI system ensures end-users interact with a single AI graphical user interface (GUI), irrespective of the application or platform they are using. This consistency in user experience reduces the learning curve and enhances user adoption. And when AI is actually used, that is when both employees and organizations start to enjoy meaningful productivity gains. The omnipresent AI can also gather insights holistically, across domains, to optimize operations that would otherwise be impossible with siloed solutions.

An integrated, always-on, and highly configurable AI that operates across the digital workplace enhances employees’ natural workflow. Empowering the human workforce with this user-friendly AI where and when they need it will usher in a golden era of workplace productivity for both enterprises and employees. With proactive, contextual assistance, seamless cross-platform operations, and organizational customization, this omnipresent AI promises a transformational shift in how businesses operate and how end-users get work done.

Organizations that embrace this evolved AI will unlock unprecedented productivity and innovation, driving the future of work into this golden age of efficiency, intelligence, and seamless user experience. By breaking down the current digital silos, businesses can truly harness the full potential of artificial intelligence.

In crafting this holistic, omnipresent AI, we are moving towards a transformative vision where technology not only aids but intuitively aligns and advances our day-to-day professional lives. AI can become a true partner in our individual and organizational productivity, rather than just a tool.
