Who should enter the ‘Responsible and Sustainable Cloud Innovation of the Year’ category?

The ‘Responsible and Sustainable Cloud Innovation of the Year’ category recognizes organizations that are proving that digital growth does not have to come at an environmental or ethical cost. This award celebrates the intersection of GreenOps and ethical tech, highlighting solutions that significantly reduce the carbon footprint of cloud computing or pioneer the responsible use of data and AI.

Entries may showcase breakthroughs in sustainable infrastructure, such as carbon-aware computing that schedules intensive workloads during peaks of renewable energy supply, or “right-sizing” platforms that eliminate “zombie resources” to cut both costs and emissions.

Submissions may demonstrate how the solution optimizes energy consumption across data centers, cooling systems, and network traffic, and provides transparent reporting.

In addition, submissions may highlight innovations in responsible and ethical AI, demonstrating how cloud platforms are being used to combat algorithmic bias, ensure data privacy, and provide “explainable” results. The category also encompasses social impact, rewarding initiatives that use the cloud to improve digital accessibility, support underserved communities, or contribute to circular economy practices within the hardware lifecycle.

Successful entries will provide clear evidence of measurable environmental or social gains, such as tons of CO2 avoided, a percentage reduction in energy intensity, or documented improvements in AI fairness scores.

EkkoSense Logo

What really impressed us at The Cloud Awards about EkkoSense’s submission is the coming together of multiple technologies (IoT, AI, Machine Learning) to produce a clearly measurable positive environmental impact. It was particularly interesting to read about the impact on legacy data centre sites through the Three case study, underlining EkkoSense’s ability to bring positive change where there can be biggest impact. The service itself looks intuitive and well designed, I particularly liked the 3D visualisation feature which will no doubt appeal to the users of this kind of service, while also increasing accessibility.”
