AlayaCare were winners of the 2023/24 Cloud Award for ‘Best Software-as-a-Service (Outside USA)’

In this interview, Annette Hili, General Manager – ANZ, at AlayaCare tells us more about their award-winning service, challenges within their sector, how they continue to innovate, and give us a peek into some successes they and their customers have enjoyed.

AlayaCare is an end-to-end software platform for home-based care organizations that manages everything from needs assessments and care plans, to route optimization and visit verification.

Can you tell us what challenges AlayaCare overcomes in your sector?

The home and disability sector is tough, and you want to ensure that your staff out there on the ground are spending as much time as they can with their clients, and the role that tech should play is to give them time back. Back in the day we were using papers and pens, searching through folders to find information about the client. With a tool like AlayaCare you get all this information on a mobile phone quickly and simply, can track where your team are, collect any data that you need to, and it’s available to anyone across the team to be able to collaborate and make sure that the client is getting the best care that they possibly can.

How do you encourage a culture of innovation at AlayaCare?

I think one of the greatest things about AlayaCare is that we have a whole team that gets to look at the data and information in our system and we can utilize AI and Large Language Models to do something a little new and different in the sector. Our Alaya labs team has done some amazing pieces of work where we can listen to the problems our clients are facing, and deliver feature sets that are going to help them overcome those challenges.

Are you able to share some examples of how this approach has helped your customers?

Probably the greatest wins are when we hear clients say that something that used to take them two days now takes them two hours. We’re continuing to look at how we can resolve those types of heavy tasks that really take a lot of manual hours, understand what we can do to improve workflows, so they can get it done a lot faster than they used to. Now we are looking at the opportunities we have there with AI. We are doing a piece of work around visit optimization to try and let schedulers get their schedules filled a lot quicker, and we’ve got stories of clients who have literally saved days of work by utilizing visit optimization within our platform.

What do you think makes AlayaCare award-winning?

If there was one thing I had to call out about AlayaCare, without doubt it would be the people. In order to want to work in the kind of environment that we support, because it can certainly be tough at times, you really need to care about what you are doing. We have 600 amazing people who really care about what we do and are continually making a difference, and to evolve the product.

What does it mean to be named a Cloud Awards winner?

It’s a wonderful acknowledgement for our staff that constantly go the extra mile to get an award like this, and know that we are really making a difference in the world.
